Finding Spain’s solar farms in satellite imagery
Spain’s solar registries run a year or more behind what is being built, and the public sources disagree on how much is there and where. I built a pipeline in Microsoft Fabric that reads Sentinel-2 imagery from Planetary Computer, runs a segmentation model over it and checks the result against the registries. The inventory holds at least 4,855 solar sites in one table, sends the 775 where sources disagree to a review queue, and has a map agent you can ask what is declared versus what is there.
